FAQ

How do I get started? How do I know if we will be a good fit?

Call or use the form on our site to schedule a free phone or video consultation. A guide on how to prepare for the consultation can be provided as well. During the consultation, we will explore what you are hoping to gain in therapy and explore whether we would be the right fit working together. This is the space to ask any questions! All emails and calls are returned within 24-48 business hours. If you decide to move forward, we will discuss the next steps as well (such as completing all necessary paperwork before your first session).

What is the cost per session? Do you accept insurance?

60-minute individual sessions are $155. 60-minute couple sessions are $210. We value accessibility and understand that these rates may not be affordable for all clients, therefore we offer a few “discounted” or sliding scale slots. If you are interested in working together, please do not let the cost per session deter you! We can also offer superbills for out-of-network reimbursement. Please contact your insurance company to inquire if you are eligible for out-of-network reimbursement for 90837 (60-minute sessions) or 90834 (45-minute sessions).

We are in a network with Aetna for most plans for New Jersey clients.

Why doesn’t Root and Rise Therapy accept most insurance?

When working with insurances, it takes away autonomy and flexibility that we value at Root and Rise Therapy which are important aspects of the therapeutic process. Insurance companies have the right to dictate treatment or require clients to meet certain criteria for services to be covered. (For example, requiring diagnoses, specific intensity or duration of symptoms)

How long will I need to be in therapy to see results?

This answer varies per client since it depends on a few different factors such as: what are your treatment goals, what work are you doing between sessions, and what your symptoms look like if any. I often suggest to clients to account for weekly or biweekly therapy sessions in the beginning, for at least 6 months! We can always look at reducing sessions or increasing the frequency if need be and explore what this looks like specifically for you to ensure you are receiving the best results!

Do you provide telehealth or in-person therapy?

As of now, I provide therapy via telehealth for New Jersey and South Carolina clients only. I can provide walk-and-talk therapy. All you need is a solid wifi connection to ensure you are physically located in New Jersey or South Carolina during our session! Please ensure you are not driving and in a confidential place during our session!
